Annual Mayor’s Dinner

Mayor Altmann will be speaking about the future plans and
development of Whitchurch-Stouffville for 2017

Dinner: (7:00 p.m.)

This year, the dinner will include a special presentation by President and
CEO of Metrolinx, Mr. Bruce McCuaig, who will share with us the plans
that Metrolinx has for improvements to the Stouffville Line GO Transit service.

The evening will also include some comic relief, as Liam Kelly, a 20 year veteran of the Toronto comedy scene, takes the stage with a short stand
up comedy routine

11th Annual Business Recognition Awards – Highlights


Small Business Week was celebrated in Stouffville with the very successful, 11th Annual Chamber of Commerce Business Recognition Awards event.

The business community along with dignitaries, MPP Dr. Helena Jaczek, Mayor Justin Altmann and Town Councillors marked the premier occasion by recognizing five Stouffville businesses who had been nominated for their awards. A message from Federal Minister Dr. Jane Philpott was read as she was unable to attend.

Schell Lumber and the Schell family were honored for their long standing commitment to Stouffville and the Chamber of Commerce.

125 Guests reveled and networked at a Reception with complimentary wine and food tastings from Willow Springs Winery, King Cole Ducks, The Smokery, Senjyu Japanese Fusion, The Lion of Stouffville, Boston Pizza and Coffee Tea Express.

Awards were given to successful enterprises who had been nominated and went through a process of independent judging and interviews by a panel of business graduate students from Seneca College. The awards were in 5 categories. The winners are:

Best New Business – Main Street Bakery House (Blair Champion)

Best Small Business – McLean Renovations (Craig McLean)

Best Large Business – King Cole Ducks (Debbie Conzelman)

Best Not For Profit – Care and Share Thrift Shop (Les Miyata)

Entrepreneur of Year – Tanis Emmett Wedding Style Atelier Boutique
